Wine Notes.................

Because we are located in Davis, we are in close proximity to the Napa Valley, Central Coast, and the Sierra Foothills.  With their abundance of wineries, we are fortunate to have access to several world-class wines.  Many of the wines we chose to carry on our wine list are marked with asteriks to denote either local wineries or whose winemakers are

UC Davis Alumni.

We will be featuring a different winery each month and, in spotlighting its wines, we will try to show their range, quality and creativity.  Cheers!

~ Featured Wine Special ~

For the Month of January

ZD Wines

We featured ZD throughout the month of December and have decided to extend it through January since the wines have been so well received. ZD is a family owned and operated, estate winery located in Napa Valley. Founded by Norman deLeuze and Gino Zepponi in 1969, ZD is literally their namesake. These two former engineers attempted to produce wines similar to those found in the Burgundy region of France. Today, over 40 years later, Norman’s three children carry out that original plan and focus only on Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. They also have continued his efforts in finding a non-toxic cure for lymphoma cancer which claimed Norman’s life earlier this year. Throughout the month of December, ZD Wines donated 50% of their retail proceeds to the UC Davis Cancer Center, which amounted to over $86,000. For their philanthropic efforts as well as for their focused winemaking and rich, vibrant wines, ZD is this month’s featured winery
